With 182 aircraft ordered and options for 30 more, the partnership between Embraer and Flexjet reinforces Brazil's leading position in global business aviation. This is the largest business jet order in history.

In February 2025, Embraer announced a historic milestone: the largest order for business jets ever recorded. American company Flexjet, which specializes in fractional aircraft ownership, signed a US$7 billion contract to acquire 182 business jets, with an option to purchase an additional 30 units. The agreement also includes a robust package of services and technical support, cementing a strategic partnership that has spanned more than two decades.
A Long-Standing Partnership
The relationship between Embraer and Flexjet began in 2003, when Flight Options was the first company to add the Legacy Executive jet to its fleet. Since then, Flexjet has received more than 150 Embraer aircraft, including the Phenom 300, Legacy 450/500, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600. With this new order, the North American company plans to double its fleet over the next five years, expanding its global presence and reinforcing its confidence in Brazilian engineering.
The Ordered Models
The order includes three prominent aircraft in Embraer's portfolio:
Praetor 600: Intercontinental jet with a range of up to 7,400 km, a quiet cabin, and fly-by-wire technology. Ideal for flights between continents with maximum comfort.
Praetor 500: Versatile and efficient, with a range of 6,200 km, it's perfect for transcontinental routes. It combines performance with operational economy.
Phenom 300E: The world's best-selling light jet for 12 consecutive years. Offering superior speed, range, and comfort in its class.
These models are recognized for their operational efficiency, on-board technology and sophisticated design, serving both the corporate and high-end leisure markets.
Impact on the Market and Embraer
The order announcement immediately resonated in the financial market. Embraer (EMBR3) shares rose 15% on the same day, reaching R$66.24 on the B3 exchange—the company's highest ever price. In the United States, the company's ADRs also rose 14.8%, reflecting investor confidence in the Brazilian manufacturer's growth strategy.
According to analysts at XP Investimentos and Itaú BBA, the agreement reinforces Embraer's "solid operational momentum" and increases future revenue visibility, with deliveries expected over the next five years. The company's backlog has jumped to approximately US$28.7 billion, with the executive segment accounting for over US$10 billion of that total.
Expansion of Production Capacity
To meet growing demand, Embraer is expanding its production lines in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo, and Melbourne, Florida. This expansion will allow it to fulfill not only its contract with Flexjet but also other significant orders, such as the one with NetJets, which totals more than 250 aircraft.
Fractional Ownership: The Flexjet Model
Flexjet operates under a fractional ownership model, allowing customers to purchase aircraft shares and access on-demand flights, with full operations, maintenance, and crew management. This format has gained traction in the US and Europe, offering flexibility and cost savings to executives and high-net-worth families.
